Interested in learning more than just what the equipment does? Join me in the FOH Mix Engineer class to find out more about live sound than just the basics of equipment operation. I'll definitely challenge your working knowledge of equipment in my class, even the folks with a few years experience will have to pay close attention! But you also need to learn the techniques of workflow and planning for events as well. The level of knowledge, understanding and organization you display to prospective employers is very important if you want that cool gig with some high level artist!

Sound Engineering for any application is hard work. Live sound engineering shares most of the same skill set as a studio engineer but naturally, both positions come with their own challenges and rewards. One of the biggest challenges for students of live sound is to gain a functional understanding of the 'Conventional Wisdom" used by professionals. Audio equipment has straightforward applications but often the conventional wisdom behind certain types of uses and applications comes from years of experience. Teaching young engineers about live sound is often focused on only the basics of operation. In fact many seasoned engineers dislike sharing their "secrets" and will only show newcomers the basics. In my approach to Live Audio education I take the exact opposite approach. I feel it's the job of the Professionals to teach students more than just the fundamentals. I believe a thorough education for young engineers includes that "conventional wisdom" that I'm talking about. You have to be able to make well formed decisions before you apply solutions. Many areas of physics concerning sound for instance, are non-intuitive and young engineers make choices that seem correct, but only make the situation worse. Find out why by joining me in FOH Mix Engineer! Just click that link!

I loved the course. Learnt heaps and would do another one if Josh was teaching it. He made it very easy to learn.
