Any recording has some form of noise that is has found its way in. In the era of home recordings this has become more of a problem and is detracting from the marketing potential of the material. This course is designed to give you the understanding and the tools to deal with the problems of noise in all its forms. You do not need any prior experience for this module, but obviously knowledge of how to use a DAW and signal processors would be useful. Also some understanding of sound theory would be highly beneficial. Don't panic however as we will review a lot of this material during the course of this module.
Course Prerequisites
None. However knowledge of sound theory and signal processing devices would be useful.
Course Aims
Where you are trying to fine tune that home recording, backing up you collection of vintage material that is on cassette or vinyl or just having to deal with a bad room. This module aims to give you the specific knowledge and tools to help you process out any unwanted noise in you music. You will walk away with a deeper knowledge and appreciation of what sound is. What dynamic range is and how it can help you mix. Most importantly you will learn how to use some of the top noise reduction processors on the market today to help you achieve the best sonic results possible.
