Course Prerequisites

Computer with audio soundcard + Ableton Live + Midi controller.

Course Aims

You will learn all the main funtions of Ableton Live for music production. You will carry out and complete practical "homework" that will be oriented to the different parts of the program and the production procces itself, this will enable you to develop music production knowledge and the ability use all the "weapons" available to create music.

Course Topics

• Configuration, program structure, aplications.
• Audio, warping, editing, envelopes.
• MIDI, creating, editing, recording,exporting.
• Mixing procces, FX, Inserts, sidechains.
• Rewire/external midi gears, midi Sync, workin with Rex.
• How to prepare a Live Set from scratch, organization, midi assign, transitions.
• Basic audio, Physics, Dynamics processors, FX, Recording levels.

Course Outcomes

On successful completion of the course you will be able to reach an understanding of all the main functions of Ableton Live in order to create a Live set or a production + other external software and hardware.

Computer Requirements

Computer, Soundcard and midi controller - if you are wishing to do live sets remember that as well as a midi keyboard you will need a midi controller with faders.
