An Intermediate (Certificate) course is aimed at those students with some basic background knowledge or experience in the subject area.
Often these courses will build on the foundations of a short course, though quite often only a small amount of prior experience is needed, they are equivalent to 1st year degree level.
These intermediate level courses are also known as "Certificate Courses" or "Level One" and are designed to provide a strong practical and academic foundation. They establish competent practical and functional skills and abilities that are essential for successful participation in a variety of creative media settings.
You can qualify for an official Certificate if you successfully complete 80 credits of Certificate Level. However, you can take any individual course on its own (as a stand alone) and slowly build towards a certificate.
